The Victron Energy VDI-16 Galvanic Isolator helps protect boats from electrolytic corrosion caused by low-voltage DC currents entering through the shore-power grounding connection. Its internal diode circuit blocks galvanic currents while preserving the protective earth path for electrical safety. The sealed, IP67-rated design is built for marine installations.
FEATURES
Corrosion protection: Helps prevent galvanic corrosion of underwater metals, including the hull, propeller, and shaft.
Diode technology: Blocks low-voltage DC currents below approximately 1.4V while allowing higher fault currents to pass.
Marine-ready construction: Fully encapsulated, waterproof design.
High peak-current capacity: Handles peak currents of 1,600A for 20ms.
Secure connections: Two M6 connection studs.
Durable housing: Anodized aluminium heat sink with IP67 protection.

IMPORTANT – INSTALLATION
Install in the vessel’s protective earth conductor, before any grounding connections to the vessel, so no connection bypasses the isolator.
Mount vertically in a well-ventilated, heat-resistant area, leaving at least 10cm of clearance around the unit.
Installation must comply with applicable electrical regulations and be performed by a qualified professional.
