Low temperature shutdown & undervoltage protectionTo prevent damage of lithium batteries, the charger will turn off automatically at low temperatures and when the input voltage drops below a user-configurable lockout value, protecting the starter battery from deep discharge.

When the engine is off, the Orion XS isolates the service battery, so no power is drawn from the starter batteryWith engine running detection, the charger only starts when the engine is running.
Protect the alternator
Lithium batteries can draw a lot of power, especially when empty. This can cause alternators to overheat.The Orion XS allows you to limit the input current to any value, matching the alternator's safe zone for perfect charging.
Regulate voltage
ntelligent alternators (as found in Euro 5/6 engines) do not continuously provide a high enough voltage. The Orion XS boosts this voltage to the perfect charging level.Regardless of the variable input voltage, lower or higher, the Orion XS charger maintains the chosen charging algorithm for perfect battery charging. The adjustable output current means the right charge current can be chosen for any service battery.
Configurable Charging
Precisely adjust input and output currents using simple controls. This safeguards alternators from overloading and ensures the service battery is charged correctly, particulary with intelligent alternators.
