Two AC inputs with integrated transfer switch

The Quattro-II 2x120V is another excellent solution for hybrid inverter/charger applications. It offers unique features, particularly its ability to accept two AC sources and switch automatically between them, which makes it highly versatile. Here's a breakdown of its features:

Key Features of the Quattro-II 2x120V:

  1. Dual AC Input & Output:
    • The Quattro-II can be connected to two independent AC sources, such as the public grid and a generator, or two generators.
    • It will automatically connect to the active source.
    • 120/240V or 120V configurations:
      • If supplied by a split-phase 120/240V source, the Quattro-II provides 240V.
      • If supplied by a single-phase 120V source, the output will be 120V.
  2. Inverter Mode:
    • When no AC power is available (e.g., in a grid failure scenario), the Quattro switches to inverter mode.
    • The inverter output will be 120V single-phase, with both lines L1 and L2 combined to provide 120V to loads on either line.
  3. PowerControl and PowerAssist:
    • The PowerControl feature allows you to set a maximum grid or generator current, ensuring that the system does not overload by automatically diverting available excess power to battery charging.
    • PowerAssist enables the system to supplement insufficient grid or generator power by utilizing battery power, particularly for peak demands, and then recharges the battery when load decreases.
    • This feature is available on the L1 input.
  4. Two AC Outputs:
    • The Quattro has two AC outputs:
      • Main output: The primary output (L1) will continue supplying power to critical loads, with no-break functionality. The transfer time is less than 18 milliseconds, ensuring minimal disruption to electronic devices.
      • Auxiliary output: The second output (L2) is active only when AC is available on the input. It's ideal for non-critical loads that should not discharge the battery.
  5. Parallel and Three-Phase Operation:
    • Up to 6 Quattros can operate in parallel for higher power output.
    • For multi-phase setups, three units can be configured for three-phase operation.
    • L2 is disabled in multi-phase setups, and the system will work with three-phase output across the combined units.
  6. System Configuration & Monitoring:
    • Settings can be easily changed using the VictronConnect app or VEConfigure software (via MK3-USB interface).
    • Several options for system monitoring and control:
      • Cerbo GX, Color Control GX, Bluetooth (with VE.Bus Smart dongle), Laptop/Computer, Battery Monitor, and Digital Multi Control Panel.
  7. Remote Monitoring & Configuration:
    • With the addition of a Cerbo GX or similar GX product connected to the internet, operational data can be monitored and managed remotely.
    • Victron Remote Management (VRM) allows users to access the system remotely and change settings as needed.

Benefits:

  • Automatic source switching: The Quattro-II simplifies power management by automatically selecting the active source.
  • Uninterrupted power: The no-break functionality ensures that critical devices keep running during power transitions.
  • Scalability: Its ability to be used in parallel or for three-phase setups makes it adaptable to larger systems with varying power requirements.
  • Energy optimization: PowerControl and PowerAssist ensure efficient use of generator/grid power and battery storage.

This makes the Quattro-II 2x120V a great solution for off-grid and hybrid applications, especially for users who need flexibility in their power sources while maximizing efficiency. It's also a good fit for areas with unreliable grid power or in situations where power conservation is critical.
