⚠️ IMPORTANT COMPATIBILITY: This 45-gallon tank does NOT fit 144" dually vans, 170" Crew Vans with one row of seats, or vans with plumbing/components within 24" of the rear of the OEM tank or 19" of the rear of the large rear cross-member. See additional Storyteller XO and model-year restrictions below.

The S&B 45 Gallon High-Capacity Fuel Tank replaces the factory 24-gallon tank on compatible 2019–2026 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 144" and 170" wheelbase vans. Designed as a plug-and-play replacement, it installs in the factory tank location with an additional rear strap and uses the OEM sending unit, providing approximately 45 gallons of fuel capacity without extending farther toward the driver side than the original tank.

FEATURES

  • 45-Gallon Capacity: Nearly doubles the factory 24-gallon fuel capacity for extended driving range.
  • Plug-and-Play Design: Includes the components required to replace the OEM tank and mounts in the factory location with an additional rear strap.
  • OEM Sending Unit: Uses the original sending unit; the fuel gauge remains accurate, although it stays at full for the first approximately 5–7 gallons.
  • Durable Construction: Made from 1/4" thick crosslink polyethylene and backed by a lifetime warranty.
  • Auxiliary Fuel Tap: When using the auxiliary fuel tap, fuel extraction stops at approximately 1/3–1/2 tank with the S&B tank.

COMPATIBILITY & IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • 2019–2026 Sprinter: 144" and 170" wheelbases.
  • Not compatible: 144" dually vans, 170" Crew Vans, or vans with insufficient clearance around the OEM tank.
  • Storyteller XO: Fits 2024–2025 models if seat-brace recall #25V-070 has been performed; fits 2026+ XO models or unaffected vans.
  • 2023+ 170" Crew Vans: S&B 40-gallon tank #10-1032 is the applicable alternative.
  • 2019–2022 170" Crew / 144" Dually: S&B 40-gallon tank #10-1027 is the applicable alternative.
  • Fuel Gauge: Accurate operation requires the J51 fuel gauge option. If J51 is not equipped, TI1349-00 or TI1527-00 is required; TI1527-00 also recalibrates the Miles to Empty reading.
